There is no better ways to salute the end of summer than with a party featuring a candy buffet. It’s “so long” to long summer days, warms days at the beach, flip flops, and summer cook-outs. To say our “until we meet again” to summer we have chosen a theme of the Hawaiian Luau. Our buffet table is covered in soft sea green fabric and the edges trimmed with the long blades of a traditional grass skirt. Our centerpiece is an arrangement a chocolate fountain with tropical fruit on colorful wooden toothpicks. Delicious candy in the shape of flowers and attached to of pastel strips of plastic wrap to create the lei will be a beautiful addition to our theme.

Beach towels are always on sale at the end of the summer. Colorful beach towels make awesome backdrops when hung behind the table. Consider attaching some flip flops and maybe a bikini to the towels, for that luau at the beach setting. For an evening luau, use dark blue fabric with an oversized moon attached, and dotted with silver (foil) stars.

Utilize seashell shaped containers and fill your buffet with colors of bonfires, and beaches. One end of the table will mimic the fruity beverages of the evening. Dip the rims of the glasses in bright colors of sugar and add gummy fruit to the side. Fill the cups with layers of M&M’s, or soft mints. Use a wide variety of gummy candy, rock candy, and interesting shapes of sugar suckers. Add Pop Rocks to your cups for extra punch!

Your goodie bags can be smaller boxes with labels that read, “Farewell, summer friend!”
