I have a deep appreciation for cheesecake. It’s such a decadent and delicious dessert, I’ve always reserved indulging in it for special occasions. I thought it would be too complicated to bake myself and figured I wouldn’t do it justice. Oh, I was so wrong. With just a few ingredients and a Push Pan from Love Cooking Company, I can create a sumptuous cheesecake at home that even looks like it’s fresh from the gourmet bakery downtown.

Cherry Cheesecake is a classic. The buttery graham cracker crust and rich cream cheese filling, topped with mildly tart cherries is an amazing centerpiece on any dessert table…and it tastes guilty-good. Yes, that’s way better than plain ‘ol good.


Below, I’ve included the recipe I use to make this sinister sweet dessert (adapted from Those Skinny jeans might have it out for me. Forget your old spring-form pan too. I highly suggest getting a Push Pan from Love Cooking Company. This 8″ aluminum pan makes all the difference in baking and serving this cake. The base of the pan sits evenly on the bottom of the pan and creates a leak-proof seal. When you’re finished baking, let the cake cool and place it on an upside down mug, cup, or bowl. Then gently apply pressure downwards on the sides of the pan to release the cake. You’ll be left with smooth, stay-put 2″ edges on your cheesecakes that give them a professional look! And, there’s a bonus…this pan is dishwasher safe!

Cherry Cheesecake

Serves: 10-12 servings
  • Crust:
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • Cheesecake:
  • 3 (8oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 16oz cherry pie filing, chilled
  1. Combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter.
  2. Lightly spray Push Pan with cooking spray.
  3. Press mixture into the bottom of Push Pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes.
  5. Combine softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, mixing at medium speed until well blended.
  6. Add eggs, one at a time, mix well.
  7. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
  8. Reduce temperature to 250 degrees and continue baking for 30-40 minutes.
  9. Let cake cool.
  10. Set cake in pan on top of a mug and push pan downwards.
  11. Release the cake from the pan and chill.
  12. Spread cherry pie filling on top of cheesecake before serving.
