A what? I know, it was new to me too, but now it’s the only way I make my Mojitos (or any muddled cocktail)!

A muddler is a handy bartender’s tool that’s used kind of like a pestle to mash (or muddle) fruits, herbs, and spices in the bottom of a glass.¬†Instead of just tossing my ingredients in a glass and taking a sip, the fresh mint and lime are “muddled” directly in my glass to release all of the flavor and fragrance right into my¬†drink. With just a few gentle twists of the muddler, the mint leaves are mashed and the lime wedges have let go of all of the juicy pulp. A splish of rum, a splash of club soda, and a few ice cubes and I’ve got the perfect Mojito.

    I have a muddle and it really helps to bring out all of the flavors of the garnishes that I use. I need a mojito like right now.

  2. Yummy! the last time I had a mojito was when I was in Mexico.
    I tried to have one here but it just wasn’t the same and the ingredients weren’t as fresh as they were on the resort.
    I have never made one for myself though so that’s something I should really try.
