Ready to pamper your pet?

Dexter loves being brushed. That’s it though. He despises all other forms of good hygiene.  I can’t tell you how hard it was to try to bathe a 200lb St Bernard in my bath tub. We installed an outdoor shower last spring and that has made bath time a little bit more manageable, but he still pouts. Finding the best products that make this process easier on him and me both is really important. Spending time and money on pet care products that claim amazing results without producing them completely frustrates me.

e-cloth for pets offers quality pet care products that work. Their unique fibre technology is the key.

We tried 3 different e-cloth products including the X-Large Cleaning & Drying Towel, the Cleaning Mitt, and the Grooming Mitt.

First things first. After coralling Dexter with the promise of treats, getting him to stay under the shower spray can be difficult. With a wet, unhappy dog, it’s time for shampoo! Working it into a thick, soapy lather all over his body is an exhausting chore. Using the dual sided Cleaning Mitt from e-cloth makes this so much easier. Just slip the mitt on with the inner finger support positioned between your index and middle fingers. Having apposable thumbs comes in handy with this mitt! The smooth side of the mitt is for removing dirt and works best with gentle strokes in the direction of the natural hair growth. The fronded side is to finish cleaning and even gives Dexter a full-body massage. He really doesn’t mind this so much. It’s kind of like a reward for good behavior and makes him sleepy.

After he’s rinsed well, it’s time to dry off. I let him get a couple really good full-body shakes and then use the X-Large Cleaning & Drying Towel. It’s lightweight and yet able to absorb 4 times as much moisture as a regular old towel. It dries out quickly too, twice as fast as ordinary towels! The fibers pull in dirt and bacteria which also helps reduce odors from fur. That’s a big bonus especially when it comes to a stinky dog.

After he’s completely dry and  thinks he’s escaped any other potential good hygiene tactics, it’s time to whip out the e-cloth Grooming Mitt! You wear the mitt the same way as the Cleaning Mitt, and simply “brush” the fur with your hand. The cream side of the mitt helps remove loose hair and dirt and also massages. The darker, mottled side of the mitt is to remove any residual surface hair or dirt and leaves Dexter’s coat looking shiny and full.

As you can tell, it’s hard work looking your best. After using e-cloth products, Dexter’s coat is smooth, shiny, and full. He’s tuckered out from all this papmering and so am I, but he looks and even smells fantastic. Now I’ve got to figure out how to keep him that way longer!

  1. What a great idea! We actually just got our first family dog and I’m clueless about how to take care of him! I got a brush but he doesn’t love it. This seems better because he might think I’m just petting him! 🙂
