Love chocolate?

It would be hard to beat Daniel’s chocolate infatuation!  Daniel’s Crazy Chocco Party by Lisabeth Protherough is a fun read about a boy who loves chocolate and his Mom who indulges him with a fantastic chocolate party for his 6th birthday. Daniel gets to have a chocolate blast with some pretty great (and  some very messy) ideas for his party! From a chocolate themed game of Dip ‘n Lick to a round of Choco Splat, a version of musical chairs with a chocolate splat at the end, this would be an incredible event for chocolate lovers of any age!

My 8 year old daughter loved this book! She is able to easily read it on her own (and to her persistent 4 year old little sister) and there are guffaws and giggles every time. I think they are completely impressed with all the amazing chocolate fun. I think they’re also already thinking of ways to convince me to throw a Crazy Chocco Party!

With an adorable story geared towards kids between ages 4-8, this book is a great way to lighten up and let kids BE kids. I’m always saying “clean that up” or “don’t spill that”…the whole idea of Daniel’s Crazy Chocco Party is to encourage kids to have some messy chocolate fun! I love that the concept of this book was born from the author’s personal experience with her autistic son. Finding a way for children to overcome sensory aversions to food can be a challenge. Daniel’s crazy chocolate adventure can give kids a whole different perspective about foods! Playing with your food isn’t always a bad thing.
