Family Fun with Out of the Box Games!

One of my family’s New Year’s Resolutions is to implement a weekly Family Game Night. The kids have actually asked for it. They are looking for some quality family fun time (and of course, some quality snacks!) and what better way to have both than to pick a night to sit down together and try our hand at Out of the Box board games?

As the my kids are getting older, some of the old familiar games of memory matching, Candyland, Go Fish, and other younger child classics have lost their thrill. Trying to find age appropiate games that are fun and engaging can be tough. Out of the Box board games are the solution for game playing for ages 5 and up! They offer a big selection of different games that cause fun and learning to happen all at once!

word on the street

So far, our favorite is Word on the Street Jr! ‘The Hilarious Tug of Words’ element to this game makes it very competitive! The kids enjoyed trying to outdo each other and the simple rules made playing the game fun! It was great to see my 16 year old actually having to work hard at keeping up with my 10 year old! They were pulling out words that I was impressed they knew how to spell!

We also enjoyed Snake Oil, another hilarious word game of creating products to pitch and persuade the other team! And, we had great fun with the number card game 7 ATE 9 and the fast paced scramble of the matching game, Bug Out!

My favorite part of Out of the Box Games is that they truly are fun to play…AND they encourage learning. With a committment to the Common Core Standards, these games put learning in each card play, each flip of the timer, and each family game night at my house! And, these will be really handy during those upcoming Snow Days! Hot chocolate, popcorn, and a few rounds of Word on the Street Jr will keep them occupied (and happy)!

I plan to suprise each of my daughter’s teachers with a game for their classrooms! While a coffee shop gift card or candle is a nice personal gift, I know my daughter’s teachers would love to have a quality, learning board game from Out of the Box for their classes.  All those inside recesses this winter will be filled with fun and the kids will be practicing their skills in Language and Visual Arts, Math, Geography, Risk Assessment, Pattern Recognition, and more with each game!

Take a look at all the games Out of the Box has to offer HERE! Choose from a wide variety of party games, quick games, or engaging games. And, be sure to “Like” them on Facebook for the latest news on their products and promotions!
